So now I have FJ60 axles under my 40. This front axle install was typical for me, put on a part, remove, put back in, remove, adjust, install, question if it’s right, remove, and then install.
So now I have the axle installed, and I out boarded the spring hangers, still spring under with the 4X4 high steer and 6 shooter knuckles. And while I was under there, I installed a 6 x 1 1/5 ram assist, and new shocks. Aligned the knuckles and did a little grinding on the calipers to get the wheels on without spacers
I took it for a test drive on the road, and I couldn’t believe how well it behaved. As I have to let the air out of the TSL’s down to 3 PSI to get into/out of the garage, that’s how I drove it. NO death wobble with cold tires and the 3 PSI… Only thing now is getting the air out of the power steering fluid.
