FLCA Turkey Trot...

Postby Jerry Dixon on Wed Aug 06, 2008 11:01 am

We’re putting together plans for the FLCA Turkey Trot. Like last year, it will be on private property up in Palatka. The difference being, it will be the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving. That’s Nov. 22 – 24. It’s the only time the property will be available.

You can camp on the property Saturday and Sunday nights if you want to, or just come on Saturday for a day of playing and contests. Take a look at last year’s Turkey Trot http://www.flca.org/Meetings/meetfram.htm , there will be more of this as well as other obstacles and a trail or two. The Saturday evening meal will be provided by the FLCA, followed by a great raffle.

Here's a look at the Palatka weather_ http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/fin ... pe=WEATHER

As the plans get finalized we’ll post more information.

Update: We're making final plans for the Turkey Trot. Brian will be starting on developing the obstacles. Final construction of the obstacles will be in a couple of weeks. I'll try and post better info on them. But be assured there will be test for both the new members and those who think they can do anything. This is for FLCA members and those who will be joining the FLCA.
There will be plenty of room to camp, even a RV if you have one. Small QUITE generators are OK. There is wood on the property for our camp fire.
Please, please E-mail me if you plan to attend. We need a head count to better plan the Saturday meal and raffle prizes. (Then again, if you don't show, I'll have better odds of winnig things.) I will also send you directions to the property. As this is private property, the owner does not wish to make the location public.

Come on now, who's going???
:?: :?:

Might make it easier to go with it not being on Thanksgiving weekend. Have to see how much gas $$ is left over.

I am in, I had a great time last year!
Brian can you make a couple obstacles with a bobcat instead of the D9 for the trucks without 3' of articulation

Still in Florida, no rocks. But there may be some concrete debris chunks, depends on how things happen before the date.
