Like Meathead says, look where trails 15 and 16 meet. There are some moguls just west of the intersection, and if you follow 16 a bit more west, there is a nice section that is very interesting where it’s wet.

Look at trail 11 just south of trail 6. Big ledge there.

And if you take the time and follow trail 11 south until it crosses Hwy 480 and goes beside the cemetery, there are a couple of spots down that way.

Another way to enjoy the local forest and have a reason to be out there if the trails are too dusty or flat, try Geocaching http://www.geocaching.com/ it can be fun and you will see things you normally wouldn't walk to. Just put in a zip code to see what is out there, Lecanto is 34460 and 34461, that's where the forest is near...

They are all on valid numbered trails.

Even just hiking around in Citrus is fun. There are some official hiking trails that happen upon some interesting terrain.

Thanks to all for sharing, does anyone knows where the caves are?? I think there is a camp near by, have you ever camp there? that looks like a good place to have a trail ride/camp weekend.

There are a few campgrounds in there. Holder Mine is dog friendly so we usually use that one. Each site has power and water and there are decent showers and water-closets there.

Second the Holder Mine campground. It's easy to get to, off of Hwy 581 onto Trail 10.

The caves are located in the SW corner of the forest. You will be walking about half a mile to get to them, easy hike. You can get to them off of Hwy 491, or from where Trails 15 & 22 meet.

Take plenty of water this time of year...
