TLC 80 Series in Orlando

Postby Bad80 on Thu May 22, 2008 3:41 pm

Hello all! My name is Leonardo and just wanted to introduce my self and share some pics of my newly acquired 80 series. It is a 93 with open differentials but I plan to change that in the near future. I want to build her for moderate/hard trail use since it is not going to be my daily driver.
Any input on the build is appreciated.

Hope to meet you guys,
Leo.

Hello Leo,

There's a couple of 80's in the FLCA. What type of build to you plan to do???

We most likely will be having a "tech session" in the next couple of weeks over in Apopka. Should be at least one 80 owner there. We should be putting a FJ60 full floater rear axle under an FJ40.

Maybe it could be a place to say "hello"...

Hey Jerry I would definitely like to assist to that tech session so I can meet you guys.

I’m looking for a well balanced rig that can be driven to the trail and back with no problems. I’m a big fan of flexy suspensions but I don’t want to go over board so that the truck becomes unbearable on the road. It must be ready for deep water crossings also :D .
I would like to end up with 35-37 tires, between 4 to 6 inch of lift, locked front (ARB) and rear (aussie), Safari snorkel, high clearance front bumper with winch, rear high clearance bumper, and all the rest of the goodies

Hello guys, I had a chance to go out and try the 80, not a big deal because everything was dry but I got a chance to flex the suspension and let me tell you that I was amazed at how much that thing could flex for being stock, here are some pics.

A great way to see what else it will do, is to go with us to Richloam this coming Saturday. See the Meetings/Trail Rides section.
