suspension and brakes

How do I do this? I need some help?

suspension and brakes

Postby nssmart on Fri Nov 21, 2008 9:10 pm

I'm looking to start fixing my '71 FJ40. The springs are sagging and the drum brakes are annoying. I was looking at the JT outfitters disk kits for front and back. For the springs there are so many options, I'm not sure. I see some on JC Whitney that add a leaf to help out. Man-a-fre has the tech section about reverse shackles. I really do not want a lot of lift and do not want to make driveline mods etc. Any suggestions? -Scott

Where are you located? I have some disc brake knuckles that are available.

GO to SOR.com. They are located out of Cali. Have great prices and will send you a catalog of every nut bolt and washer for your truck with a part number next to it... I have purchased ALOT from these guys and have never been done wrong...I got dibs on those knuckles too... could use them on the 55

Thanks for the heads up on sources. I live in AL now, but got the cruiser in China Lake, CA. I used SOR and Man A Fre before, but wasn't sure if there were better or cheaper suppliers out there.

I get on Ih8mud for the tech help.
