What's preps is everyone doing as far as getting ready for the trip and getting their rigs ready?

Getting an early start.
Yesterday i assembled a third member to take as a spare...with the correct ratio. Also added 4gts extra capacity to the power steering/hydroboost system in an attempt to keep it cooler.
Balanced the tires.
Contemplating changing out the cracked windshield. Maybe that should wait though.

Seriously though.... Making 1 spare, square tube front D-shaft, and changing out the front diff fluid, and trying to figure out how the hell I can find a new fan shroud that actually fits my runner. Ordered rock rings for the front knuckles and a new tie rod end to repair the damaged one from the pitman arm. Other than that, I might bring a more versed trail spare parts bag. PS<> I will be bringing the welder and the Generator on the truck for anyone that has bad luck from the trail gods.....

AND I MIGHT tape a picture of Jake dressed up in a Betty Boop outfit to the hood of my rig. As a poss. offering to the trail Gods when they come calling for more broken metal.

Just picked up 8000 pound winch and installed this weekend, really want some sliders before the trip. Dennis (with 46 in tires) has a pipe bender but its hard to get a weekend when we both have time, they are $299 on line and I'm not paying that. Steve, a week or so before we leave I want to stop by and test your car dolly out on the highway and see how it rides. Let me know when a good time would be for you. If any of you have a pipe bender maybe we can get together.

Rocky......so are your parents gonna let us all crash there if its super cold? just jokin. Why do you want to tow your FJ? That thing is better on the highway than most other cruisers, you should get yourself a 40 or bad arss 4 runner like Mikes and use your FJ to tow it?

I PLAN ON BREAKING SOMETHING TO TEST TOYOTA ON THE WARRANTY. THE SERVICE MANGER AT DELUCA TOYOTA SAID IT COVERED NO QUESTION ASKED. PLUS WHEN IT DOES BREAK WE GOT A RIDE HOME.
