Wheeling tips for Ocala

Postby corbinwelter on Thu Sep 03, 2009 2:32 pm

I just bought a 80 series and cant wait to take it out, decided to go out to Ocala this weekend but havent found anybody to go with me, so might be going solo unless i meet somebody on the trails.

I have never been to Ocala, and the maps i have found are a bit confusing. talked to a ranger about the Tread Lightly trail system at Lake Delancy. anybody else have a favorite spot?

the 80 is stock besides 285/75r16 BFG ATs, no lockers.

The South end trails are TIGHT, and I haven't been to the North end in a couple of years. There is some great senery to see, and only sandy hills and such to test your 80.

You can get the most recent Forestry maps here: http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/florida/maps/documents/MVUM/Map20.pdf

If you find the ideal spot, post up...

Well, that site use to have the entire Ocala Forest maps, about 70 pages of them. I can't find them now.

You might call the local information site, Lake George Ranger, 352 625 2520, and ask them if they are now available and printed, or where the web site may be...
